The front of this yellow floral ruched dress uses a tight vertical gather. It pulls the polyester fabric down the center of the chest. This naturally forms the V-neckline and forces the bodice to lay flat against the torso. Zero stretch in the material. A hidden back zipper secures the natural waist.
The sleeves are cut wide. Butterfly style. They drop over the shoulders, leaving the underarm completely open for airflow. The skirt operates on two separate layers. A solid polyester lining stops above the knee. The outer floral shell drops further, keeping the lower legs visible through the semi-sheer fabric. It is a literal physical contrast. Ground the light yellow print with a heavy black combat boot. A direct approach to spring dresses that bypasses the heavy knits usually found in casual dresses.
