Forget what you've been told: a white lace dress isn't exclusively reserved for walking down the aisle or attending a garden party where everyone sips tea with their pinkies up. It's the kind of piece that looks just as good with flat sandals on a Saturday as it does with heels on a Friday night.
What's here and how they're different
This is a small collection on purpose — we'd rather give you 9 options that are genuinely different from each other than 40 that all look the same.
The minis split into two camps. The Lace Backless Mini and Collared Sleeveless Mini are the going-out options — more skin, more statement, and both currently on deep sale. The V Neck Embroidery Lace Mini is newer and a little more covered-up — 100% cotton, so it breathes well in summer and has a more handmade feel to the lacework.
If you want more length, the midis are where this collection gets interesting. The Jacquard Shirred Slip Midi is our most-reviewed piece here (11 reviews) — nylon with a shirred bodice, so it adjusts to your shape without zippers. The Lace X Cross Slip Midi and Square Neck Slip Midi are both 100% cotton — they have more structure and won't cling when it's humid.
The newest addition is the Lace Splicing Slip Maxi at $55 — it's the only maxi here and the only one in polyester, which means it photographs well and travels without wrinkling.
A note on white lace and fabric choice
The number one concern with white lace is transparency. Here's the honest answer: the cotton pieces (the minis and midis at $44–$49) have enough weight that you shouldn't need a slip underneath in most cases. The viscose and nylon ones are thinner — they'll look best with a nude undergarment or a built-in lining. We've designed most with lining where it matters, but if you're between a backless style and a sleeved one and you run warm, go cotton.
