I was looking for a cheongsam/qipao that will fit my body type.My husband(Chinese) bought me several dresses of this style but unfortunately they wouldn’t fit me at all. Either my arms are too thick, my hips too wide, my shoulders too low, my neck too short, they just wouldn’t sit right. I gained some weight and most of it went on my upper arms. This dress fits me like a glove. I ordered a size up than I normally wear because it is polyester and it has no stretch. I wanted to wear it with a belt and white converse style trainers. And omg! It’s loose on the sleeves, it’s a bit loose itself, I can move in it! I made it look so cool and fashionable, yet I managed to show my respect and appreciation towards his culture without looking vulgar or weird. I got a lot of compliments and felt fabulous! I wore it with a padded bra(not push-up). I washed it in the washer in a laundry bag in the 45min short cycle on cold wash and regular spin. Air dried it. When you iron it, put a cotton cloth on top of it,otherwise the polyester will melt under the iron if you are not mega extra careful. The pattern is so good too! I plan on seeking a good seamstress to make me a real silk one, or viscose. The order arrived in about a week in Canada. I ordered over $100 and i didn’t pay any taxes. I was a bit worried to not be a scam but yeah, there is a tracking number and all. Didn’t have a chance to talk to anyone from customer service, so can’t give feedback on that. Ordered another 2 dresses. One S body fitting and stretchy. The hips were grand but on the chest it was slightly loose. The other dress is from cotton. I ordered an M and it was loose. I will stick to S if I don’t want it to be loose next time.
