A note on our skater dresses
If you've been scrolling through this page, you've probably noticed we don't do just one type of skater dress. There are pleated minis like our Brown Plaid Lapel Dress — that one's 100% cotton and has a bit of a school-uniform-meets-street-style energy. Then there are pieces like the Black Splicing Pleated Dress, which skews a little more cocktail-ready.
The thing that ties them all together is the silhouette: fitted up top, flared at the skirt. It's the same shape that's been flattering since the 1950s, and there's a reason it never really goes away. A-line cuts and skater dresses are cousins — ours lean a little more structured than a basic A-line, with pleats, button details, and waist definition that gives them more personality.
A few things worth knowing before you buy:
- Most of our skater dresses run true to size. If you're between sizes, the cotton ones (like the plaid styles) have less give — consider sizing up.
- Mini lengths hit around mid-thigh on most heights. If you prefer a little more coverage, filter by midi.
- The floral prints tend to sell out faster than solids, especially in spring. If you see one you like, don't wait too long.
